How to Join Special Olympics Programs Area 7

It is easy to become a Special Olympics athlete! Find out how to join the Area 7 community of athletes striving for physical and personal excellence through sports competition.

 

To be eligible to participate in Special Olympics, you must be at least 8 years old and identified by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions:

 

• Intellectual disabilities
• Cognitive delays as measured by formal assessment
• Significant learning or vocational problems due to cognitive delay that require or have required specially designed instruction

 

If you meet these criteria, all you need to do to become an Area 7 athlete is contact us. Our program coordinator will help you match your interests and ability level to seasonal sports and programs in your community.

 

Area 7 includes Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Jasper, Jones, Monroe, Putnam, Twiggs, Upson and Wilkinson counties.
