Become a Special Olympics Georgia-Area 7 Sponsor
Special Olympics Georgia-Area 7 depends on the generous financial contributions of our corporate and local sponsors. Our events would not be possible without help from:
Year-Round Corporate Sponsor: GEICO
GEICO has sponsored an annual road race to raise funds for Special Olympics Georgia athletes and programs for more than 35 years. Funds collected from shirt sales and race sponsors go directly to benefit more than 800 Special Olympics athletes in ten Middle Georgia counties. Volunteers from GEICO—from top-level administration through their ranks—work and volunteer to make this annual race a success. Since the race’s inception in 1984, the event has raised about $900,000 for Special Olympics!
Special Olympics Georgia Area 7 athlete Nandi Isaac expressed our collective appreciation at the 2016 Road Race, saying:
Thank you, GEICO, for sponsoring fundraisers for 33 years to support our athletes and programs. Besides raising nearly $1 million, your passion and commitment are awesome.
Your support has helped us play many sports. Through Special Olympics we have learnt many skills, such as team work, helping others and becoming part of our community.
Special Olympics has given me the confidence to speak up and help others like me.
Your continued support will change many more lives and help our athletes attend State Games and win.
I cannot imagine life without Special Olympics and my friends, coaches and volunteers.
Thanks, again, GEICO! You have truly changed many lives!
