Special Olympics Bocce Ball in Georgia Area 7 Sports
Area 7 of Special Olympics Georgia provides a wide range of training to ensure that our athletes find the sport they enjoy. One of the sports we incorporate is bocce ball, a competitive game that improves hand-eye coordination and requires teamwork to win.
What is Bocce?
Bocce is an Italian game. The basic principle of the sport is to roll a bocce ball closest to the target ball, which is called a palina. Bocce as a Special Olympics sport provides people with special needs the opportunity to have social contact, develop physically and gain self-confidence. Next to soccer and golf, bocce is the third most participated sport in the world.
Explore Sports and Join the Community!
We’re about more than the thrill of the finish line or scoring that winning point. Exploring new sports, meeting new people and developing new skills are vital to a child’s development. Doing so in a supportive community is necessary for families as well as their young athletes. Area 7 of Special Olympics Georgia provides the training and support that your child needs to explore sports and develop their skills.
